RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a 3D Plant Piping Designer in Texas. This is a full time, direct hire, remote position with our client. This position offers a competitive package, including benefits, vacation, and holidays.
Overview of YOUR role as a 3D Plant Piping Designer
As a 3D Plant Piping Designer, you will play a vital role in delivering piping designs and services to support plant operations, outages, and construction projects. This position requires expertise in 3D modeling, piping design standards, and a commitment to delivering quality results efficiently and safely.
As a 3D Plant Piping Designer YOU will:
- Design and draft process and utility piping systems using tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, Revit, or Navisworks.
- Develop piping installation specifications in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Recognize and communicate project scope, specifications, and design criteria.
- Provide technical guidance on material selection, piping supports, and system layout.
- Check calculations and deliverables for accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary squad checks to ensure design coordination.
- Collect and manage laser scan data and integrate as-built conditions into designs.
- Support PSM documentation control for drawings and evaluate ways to improve site safety.
- Estimate construction quantities and assist in developing cost projections.
YOU are the ideal 3D Plant Piping Designer candidate if you have:
- Proficiency in 3D modeling tools like AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, Revit, or Navisworks.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes such as ASME and API.
- Experience in designing piping systems, including pump, tank, and valve arrangements.
- Familiarity with piping materials, specifications, and good design practices.
- Strong understanding of Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
It’s a BONUS if you have:
- Experience in industrial settings such as power plants, refineries, or chemical plants.
- Knowledge of stress and flexibility analysis for piping systems.
- Laser scanning experience and the ability to integrate data into designs.
- Proven ability to manage off-site design teams and ensure deliverable quality.
