RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Design Specialist in San Antonio, TX. This is a Full-Time, Contract to Hire, Onsite opportunity. Overview of YOUR role as a Design Specialist:
This position is responsible for performing engineering design on a variety of engineering tasks. The Design Specialist will utilize industry specifications and standards to ensure designs meet all safety requirements. The Design Specialist will work alongside senior specialists and engineers for guidance when they are in situations they haven’t encountered previously.
As a Design Specialist YOU will:
- Utilizing fundamental engineering expertise to tackle diverse project tasks under the guidance of senior engineers and managers
- Executing a range of basic engineering duties to support the creation of plans, reports, diagrams, and other technical documents under supervision of experienced engineers and supervisors
- Fulfilling additional job responsibilities as required
YOU are the ideal Design Specialist if you have:
- Appropriate technical degree or related experience
- Basic CAD skills is preferred (Intermediate – AutoCAD, Beginner – Micro-Station)
- Minimum of at least one intern position of not less than 3 months performing basic engineering tasks
- Enthusiasm to be a part of the team and open to learn new skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
It’s a BONUS if you have:
- Understand basic concepts of conduit layout.
- GIS experience preferred.
- Identify different pieces of equipment on the distribution system.
- Ability to read and understand civil drawings.
- Ability to produce accurate and error-free work.
- Ability to extract information/instructions from documentation.
- Highly organized and able to oversee several projects simultaneous.
