RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Disaster Housing Inspector in Remote, US (will be deployed to locations). This is a Full Time, Contract, Field opportunity.
Overview of YOUR role as a Disaster Housing Inspector:
We are seeking qualified Disaster Housing Inspectors to support disaster relief efforts. This role involves assessing damage to homes following natural disasters and providing vital assistance to disaster survivors by meeting with them and evaluating their damaged properties. Inspectors will complete assessments and submit documentation in a timely manner while ensuring excellent customer service to those affected.
As a Disaster Housing Inspector YOU will:
- Meet with disaster survivors (or their approved representatives) at the damaged property whenever possible.
- Explain provided documents and answer basic questions related to the disaster relief process.
- Verify applicants’ identification, insurance status, ownership (for homeowners), residency, and household composition.
- Conduct damage evaluations and determine the level of damage to the home, recording findings in detail.
- Assess damages to personal property, furnishings, and the dwelling’s exterior, including roof and crawlspace inspections (from the ground).
- Measure and document the total square footage of the property.
- Accurately complete all required data fields within the provided software system.
- Submit completed inspection reports within five (5) days of issuance.
- Submit weekly timesheets and travel reimbursement forms promptly and accurately.
- Respond to inquiries from team members within 12 hours via phone, text, or email.
- Perform other technical assistance duties as assigned.
YOU are the ideal Disaster Housing Inspector if you have:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Basic math and computer proficiency are required; professional writing and documentation skills are essential.
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment assessment that evaluates their understanding of residential construction principles.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and comprehension).
- Must maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with applicants and colleagues.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work 7 days a week during a deployment, with shifts exceeding 10 hours.
- Flexibility to travel and remain on assignment for extended periods.
