RCS Corporation has an immediate need for a Drafter in Philadelphia, PA 19103. This is a full-time, contract to hire, remote assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.
The Drafter’s Role
This position is responsible for developing engineered pipeline construction plans in a CAD/Microstation platform, receiving roughly designed concepts from engineers and transforming them into working documents. Applications are predominantly related to the civil and mechanical engineering fields.
This position is responsible for understanding and completing drawings in accordance with client specification. The CAD Specialist should have advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and experience with training design practices. In this role, the Drafter will also:
- Calculate lay out rights-of-way and/or street dimension and angles
- Construct dimensional relationships of one part to another and a relationship of various parts to entire project, utilizing knowledge of engineering practices and mathematics
- Create a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawing, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment
- Modify drawings
Job Requirements
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
- An Associate’s Degree (preferably in design/drafting technology)
- AutoCAD experience
- 2+ years of professional experience. A background in drafting/design, traffic management, utilities, or construction preferred
- A valid driver’s license
- Microsoft Office experience
- Excellent communication skills, well organized, strong critical thinking skills, reliable, has the ability to adapt quickly and perform well under pressure (deadlines
