RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer in Chicago, IL/Minneapolis, MN/Phoenix, AZ/Austin, TX/Denver CO/Des Moines IA/Muscatine IA/Cedar Rapids, IA/Iowa City, IA/Coralville, IA. This is a Full-Time, Contract, Hybrid opportunity.

Overview of YOUR role as an Electrical Engineer:

As an Electrical Engineer with a focus on power generation, your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities aimed at designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems for various projects. You will be at the forefront of leading electrical engineering initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of projects from conception to completion.

As an Electrical Engineer YOU will:

  • Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical systems for power generation applications.
  • Conduct system modeling and analysis for power generation projects, optimizing performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other project components.
  • Evaluate and select equipment and components for power generation systems, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Perform site inspections and provide support during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.

YOU are the ideal Senior Mechanical Engineer if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical project engineering.
  • Experience working with heavy industrial, power plants, higher education, data centers, hospitals, or similar facilities preferred.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower for system modeling and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
