RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Substation Engineering Supervisor in Marietta, GA. This is a full time, direct hire, office based position with our client. This position offers a competitive package, including benefits, vacation, and holidays.
Overview of YOUR role as a Substation Engineering Supervisor
Provide supervisory and engineering/technical support to a substation electrical engineering and design team to deliver safe, cost-effective, and high-quality engineering and design services. You will oversee engineers, designers, CAD technicians, and administrative personnel while performing project management duties and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
As a Substation Engineering Supervisor, YOU will:
- Provide supervisory and engineering/technical leadership to an engineering and design team by:
- Motivating, training, and mentoring staff
- Ensuring proper tools, training, and work environments
- Giving constructive feedback and supporting professional development
- Perform project management duties, including Responsible Charge Engineering (Sealing Designs).
- Plan, schedule, and monitor work activities to meet cost and utilization goals.
- Ensure engineering designs adhere to professional codes and standards.
- Maintain and develop engineering standards, work practices, and systems.
- Manage customer relations and support business development efforts.
- Administer corporate safety policies and ensure compliance.
- Assist in recruiting efforts and strategic planning.
YOU are the ideal Substation Engineering Supervisor candidate if you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 7+ years of engineering experience, including 5-7 years in substation engineering
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and an NCEES record
- Experience in electrical power system engineering related to substation design
- Strong technical and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
It’s a BONUS if you have:
- Project management experience
- Multi-state P.E. registration
- 8-10 years of substation design experience (69kV and higher)
- Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, and substation design best practices
- Ability to perform grounding studies, bus calculations, lightning protection studies, and substation illumination studies
