RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Technical Support Representative in Vernon Hills, IL. This is a Full-Time, Contract to Hire, Hybrid assignment with our client. 

Overview of YOUR role as a Technical Support Representative:

As Technical Support Representatives, your primary duty is to ensure utmost customer satisfaction across various service platforms by leveraging your technical expertise. Serving as integral members of the Customer Experience center, you’ll cater to our global scientific clientele by offering product recommendations, application support, and proficient troubleshooting assistance.

As a Technical Support Representative YOU will:

  • Focuses on meeting customers’ application and product needs, while increasing sales revenue through recommending appropriate products, equipment, and solutions.
  • Supports global sales channels and international customer networks via pre-sale and post-sale support.
  • Assists customers in buying decision, consistently recognizing and offering cross-sell/upsell opportunities to customers adding value during the order entry process. Follows up on quoted opportunities as needed.
  • Responsible for national security requirements and export compliance of all transactions, including end user screening and use of products to adhere to technology restrictions as applicable.
  • Attends vendor and department meetings for continued learning including product training, export documentation, export compliance and any other function that relates to work duties.
  • Responsible for providing product documentation support as needed.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and process improvement.
  • Sales support activities such as entering orders, providing quotes and pricing, expediting orders and coordinates return process for all products. Makes returns/or replacement decisions for failed products or customer complaints.

YOU are the ideal Technical Support Representative candidate if you have:

  • Proficiency in scientific vocabulary/terminology and the capacity to continuously enhance expertise in laboratory procedures, fluid handling, electrochemistry, and industrial equipment.
  • Strong command of Internet usage and Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with an openness to acquiring proficiency in other software as necessary. Familiarity with AS400 and/or other Customer Database Management systems is advantageous.
  • Demonstrates robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, adept at delivering effective solutions tailored to customer requirements, and proficient in interpreting technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Ability to leverage acquired knowledge for making real-time business decisions.
  • Flourishes in a dynamic, collaborative setting, capable of performing well under pressure, meeting deadlines, and managing time-sensitive tasks efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear and concise interaction across all organizational levels
  • 0 to 2 years customer service related experience.
