RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Substation Civil-Structural Engineer III in Pittsburgh, PA 15205. This is a Full-Time, Direct Hire, Onsite assignment with our client. 

Overview of YOUR role as a Substation Civil-Structural Engineer III:

Provide civil-structural engineering and technical expertise and supervision to Transmission Substation engineering and design teams for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. Provide civil-structural specific design and direction on complex engineering and technical challenges for the projects.

As a Substation Civil-Structural Engineer III YOU will:

• Experience and expertise in the identification, analysis, and resolution of engineering, technical and design problems.
• Effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities.
• Thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
• Continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, process development, and performance.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Should be able to understand and create substation civil-structural drawing packages (foundations, structural steel, bus and cable) utilizing national code, industry standards and best practices.
• Champion the company’s goals and represent the company positively and professionally.
• Interact with customer’s internal engineers and technical personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers.
• Monitor deliverables, schedules, and present solutions to the client.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

YOU are the ideal Substation Civil-Structural Engineer III candidate if you have:

• Required A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or University in Civil Engineering.
• Required Engineering Degree awarded from a College of University that is accredited by ABET.
• 5-7  Year(s) Experience as an Engineer with the electrical industry in the field of power delivery.
• Professional Engineering License or ability to be licensed within a year

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Protection & Control Engineer III in Pittsburgh, PA 15205. This is a Full-Time, Direct Hire, Onsite assignment with our client. 

Overview of YOUR role as a Protection & Control Engineer III:
Provide substation protection and control design, engineering, technical support, and oversight to a transmission substation engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. Provide technical competency and direction on complex engineering and technical problems for projects including a wide range of utility substation projects, battery energy storage systems and solar collector substations

As a Protection & Control Engineer III YOU will:

• Advanced understanding of protection and control fundamentals as they apply to utility substation and transmission line equipment
• Proficient in design of protection schemes for substation and transmission line equipment, including bus, line, capacitor and transformer design and protection schemes and associated settings
• Advanced understanding of SCADA communication design
• Ability to lead a team of engineers and designers in a lead engineer capacity
• Proficient in principles of project management
• Basic understanding of substation design to include equipment arrangements
• Create substation P&C design project scopes, estimates, budgets, and schedules for substation projects
• Ability to read, interpret, design, and engineer P&C designs for utility stations through 500kV, including one lines, three lines, AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, settings, relays, and SCADA
• Ability to perform studies and create reports for coordination, voltage drop, fault current, and insulation coordination
• Perform calculations and studies using client specified software and standards
• Oversee the work of junior staff and mentor designers/drafters
• Experience checking designs for accuracy, appearance, and adherence to customer standards
• Collaborate, communicate, and liaise effectively with other design disciplines, colleagues, construction contractors, consultants, materials suppliers, and clients
• Visit sites, advise on P&C engineering issues, and modify design to solve issues during construction
• Manage budgets and project schedules

YOU are the ideal Protection & Control Engineer III candidate if you have:

• 5 to 7 years’ experience as a practicing engineer
• Bachelor’s degree from an EAC/ABET accredited Engineering Program OR an approved evaluation of non-ABET credentials by NCEES OR graduation from a Master’s or Doctoral Program in Engineering from an institution with EAC/ABET accredited Undergraduate Engineering Programs
• Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to be licenses within one year
